Interpretive tours
Interpretive tours of this wildlife habitat are conducted by volunteer Juanita Bay Park Rangers on the first Sunday of each month (excluding holiday weekends), beginning at 1:00 p.m., in the parking lot. The tour lasts approximately one hour and take place rain or shine. Bring binoculars. No registration is required.
Bird walks are the third Tuesday of the month at 9:00am and finish before noon. Join one of the Juanita Bay Park Rangers, who is also a member of the Eastside Audubon Society, for a relaxed morning walk in Juanita Bay Park looking for any birds in the area. Bring binoculars and meet in the parking lot. No registration required.

Juanita Bay Park offers many opportunities to view a variety of wildlife. The 110-acre park provides habitat for songbirds, waterfowl, raptors, shorebirds, amphibians, turtles, beavers and other small mammals. Interpretive signs are located throughout the park for self-guided tours. Juanita Bay Park features paved trails and several boardwalks.
In 2009 some major changes are coming to Juanita Bay Park. The City of Kirkland, with the help of Seattle Urban Nature (SUN) and EarthCorps is embarking on a multi-year habitat restoration project. More information on this plan can be found on the Green Kirkland Partnership web page~

Volunteer Juanita Bay Park Rangers have the option to contribute in a variety of ways. They can conduct interpretive tours, assist with light park maintenance, monitor wildlife, greet and answer individual visitor’s questions. Time commitments are very flexible.
