Jessica Greenway is serving her second term on the Kirkland City Council. She has served since January of 2004.
Current Assignments: Finance Committee, Disability Board, Economic Development Committee, Solid Waste/Houghton Transfer Station Task Force, and Council Affordable Housing Committee.
Regional Representation: Chair of Metropolitan Solid Waste Management Advisory Committee (MSWMAC).
About Council Member Greenway: Jessica Greenway received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Western Washington University and has a background in accounting, financial planning, and investment management. Jessica is a Certified Financial Planner and owns a financial planning and investment firm in Seattle’s historic Pioneer Square neighborhood.
Council Member Greenway has lived in Kirkland since 1988 and has long been active in Kirkland civic life and in neighborhood issues. Prior to serving on the Council, Jessica served on the Planning Commission for two years and on the Park Board for nine years, including two years as Chair. She is a founder of the South Rose Hill/Bridle Trails Neighborhood Association and served as its first President. Jessica has served on numerous citizen committees and task forces, including the NE 85th Street Corridor Task Force and the Kirkland Community Summit Government Responsiveness Committee.
Council Member Greenway was nominated for the Mayor’s Small Business Award in Seattle in 1992, and was a guest lecturer on the U.S. Economy at the Tashkent University in Uzbekistan, Russia in 1991. She is a founding member of the Historic Seattle Arts & Crafts Guild, and was honored as a “Woman of Distinction” by the Kirkland Women’s Club in 2005. Jessica lives with her husband, Ken, and Mother and Father-in-law, Lucy and Earl Nelson, in the Norkirk neighborhood.
