Bob Sternoff has lived in Kirkland since 1981 and has served on the City Council since December 13, 2005. Bob earned a B.A. in Speech Communications from the University of Washington.
Current committee assignments: Chair of the Public Safety Committee and member of Economic Development Committee.
Regional representation: Vice Chair of Suburban Cities Association's Growth Management Planning Council, Public Issues Committee alternate, member of the Suburban Cities Association of King County Board, enterpriseSeattle Board, and Jail Oversight Assembly Committee.
About Council Member Sternoff: Prior to serving on the Council, Bob Sternoff served 8 years on the Kirkland Park Board including 3 terms as Chair. He also was a founding member of the Downtown Action Team where he served as Vice Chair of the Executive Committee, Chair of the Parking Subcommittee and Vice Chair of the Lakeshore Plaza Design and Development Sub-Committee. Council Member Sternoff has also served as a member of the Juanita Beach Advisory Committee, Skate Board Park Committee and 2002 Park Bond Steering Committee. He chaired the Annexation Sub-Committee and currently serves on the Public Safety Committee and the Economic Development Sub-Committee. He is Vice Chair of the SCA GMPC Caucus and also serves on the Board of Enterprise Seattle, the PSRC Growth Management Policy Board, King County Growth Management Planning Council and is an alternate to the PSRC Executive Board.
Council Member Sternoff owns and manages several diversified Real Estate development companies that have won numerous awards for design excellence. His previous work experience includes over 10 years in national and international transportation and technology.
