NE 68 St & 108 Ave NE Improvements

• Reduce Traffic Congestion |
• Enhance Pedestrian Facilities and Safe School Walk Route |
| • Improve Sound Transit Route Timing |
Project Overview: This project will install a westbound to northbound right turn lane and other improvements identified as a part of Sound Transit's route improvements. These improvements will reduce congestion and allow the intersection to maintain the City's desired level of service. Sidewalk and curb enhancements at all four corners of the intersection will improve pedestrian safety and maintain a safe school walk route.
What to Expect: During construction, there may be inconvenience associated with driving through the work zone; traffic control and flagging operations will be in effect. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained throughout the construction process. The contractor is required to back fill and/or cover their work at the end of each day so there will be no open trenches left over night.
Timeline: Project is currently in design phase, and scheduled tentatively for construction in summer/fall of 2010. Initial work will be done by PSE relocating utility poles. |
