Public Defender Services
Public Defender screening take place at the Kirkland Municipal Court (11515 NE 118th Street) Map with directions to Municipal Court. You must appear in person, Tuesdays, between the hours of 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. Public Defender screenings cannot be conducted by telephone.
Also, the King County Bar Association operates a lawyer referral service and provides information on community legal services.
Juror Information
Jurors are summoned randomly. Jurors serving at Kirkland Municipal Court must be residents of King County. Please read your juror summons for information detailing special circumstances allowing exemption from jury duty.
In the event you are summoned for jury duty, please call the Jury Information Line at 425-587-3181 the evening before your scheduled service for a recorded juror message. Occasionally, cases will settle before a scheduled jury trial and the recorded message will advise whether your appearance is necessary.
Hearings by Mail
If you are unable to attend your scheduled contested or mitigation hearing date, you may be eligible for a hearing by mail. The hearing by mail form is included with your hearing notice. If you did not receive a hearing by mail form with your hearing notice, you may not be eligible for this program. Please contact the court for more information at 425-587-3160.
