| Yard and food waste containers are collected every week, year round. |
|
Recyclables (glass, newspaper, & cans) |

Collection
All of your containers should be placed for collection by 6 a.m. on your collection day. If you are unsure of your collection day, call Waste Management/Sno-King at (800) 592-9995. Please be sure to remove your containers once they are emptied.
To see what day your collection day will be, click to download the map of collection pickups.
Missed Service
To report a missed collection, please contact Waste Management/Sno-King at (800) 592-9995. There is a small return trip charge if you failed to have your containers set out for pick-up by 6:00 a.m. on collection day.
Bad Weather Cancellation of Service
During periods of bad weather, Waste Management/Sno-King becomes very concerned about public safety and the well-being of its drivers who have to drive and walk in these hazardous conditions. When we are unable to perform collections safely, collection will cease temporarily. This information will be broadcast on KIRO 710 AM and KOMO 1000 AM. If you find that Waste Management has not collected your garbage, recycled materials, or yard waste on such a day, please store your material until the following week when your driver can safely collect two weeks worth of material.
Holidays
Waste Management/Sno-King does not provide service on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. On days after these holidays, your garbage will be collected the day after your normal collection day.
Following Christmas, Waste Management uses additional trucks to collect only mixed wastepaper. Don't be worried if the newspaper, bottles, and cans are collected separately from the mixed waste paper. It will be collected on the same day, but just at different times.
Placing a Hold on Garbage Service
The City of Kirkland has mandatory garbage collection service to protect public health. You may put a temporary hold on your garbage collection service only if you are gone for a 2-month billing cycle.
Please contact the City of Kirkland Utilities Department at (425) 587-3150 (e-mail: utilitybilling@ci.kirkland.wa.us) for more information about putting your service on hold.
