If the delinquent charges and penalties remain unpaid at the close of business on the fortieth day following the bill date, the water supply will be shut off at the meter and water service will not be restored until all charges, penalties, and fees have been paid in full.
Two days prior to shut-off a tag may be hung on your door reminding you that payment is due. Beginning January 1, 2007 there will be a charge of $20.00 for each shut-off tag. Payment must be received (6) days before the shut-off date to avoid the $20 dollar fee.
If your water is shut off, there is an additional $40.00 re-connect fee if the water is turned on between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m (Monday-Friday, except for holidays). After 3 p.m., the fee is $90.00.
All charges for City of Kirkland utility services, including interest and penalties, when unpaid and delinquent shall be a lien upon the property to which the service is rendered. If a lien is placed upon the property, there is an additional $60.00 lien fee charged.
If you are a new property owner, please be aware that if any charges from the previous owner remain unpaid, the charges may be transferred to your account. Please call (425) 587-3150 (e-mail: utilitybilling@ci.kirkland.wa.us) to speak with a Customer Account representative if you need further information.
