The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) members are appointed by Kirkland City Council and provide recommendations to Council regarding tourism programs and expenditures. Revised Code of Washington
RCW 67.28 and
Chapter 5.19 of the Kirkland Municipal Code outline the role of LTAC.

2010 Objectives
Financial Stability
- Improve Kirkland’s tourism offerings by continued development of relationships with tourism partners and utilization of benefits associated with membership in the Seattle Visitors and Convention Bureau and the State of Washington Tourism Council.
- Engage a consultant to evaluate and update the Tourism Marketing Plan.
- Conduct a Lodging Tax Advisory Committee retreat to prioritize program elements.
- Continue to promote overnight stays by marketing Kirkland to regional and national publications of interest to tourists and business travelers.
- Upgrade the tourism website (Explore Kirkland) and tourism business tools to meet the needs of tourists and tourism partners.
- Conduct annual media audits (value of earned media and ROS on paid advertisements.)
- Provide longer lead times and more integrated story development for pitches to travel professionals.
Community Involvement
- Coordinate with local partners on their efforts to market Kirkland through promotional materials and events.
- Provide regular program updates to the City Council, tourism partners and stakeholders about the tourism activites.
- Continue to provide support to the Walla Walla partner program.
